Congratulations, Vinny!
I was contacted by my bff’s mom a few weeks ago – her younger son was about to graduate from Adelphi University with a Masters in Public Health, and could image cookies for their family party? Of course I could! 😊

The problem with doing Boy Scout cookies is that you end up piping “Be Prepared” 70 times and eventually start singing the Lion King song and that’s the end of any other thoughts for the rest of the day.
About a month ago, one of my very good friends from college got engaged to her long-term boyfriend. And, clever boy that he is, Alex proposed a week before our 5-year college reunion, so we all got to celebrate together!
I made these cookies (along with more reunion-themed cookies) for Julia and Alex. Julia’s favorite color in the world is yellow (which is reflected, adorably, in everything from her car to her gorgeous ring), so obviously I had to incorporate that into the cookies. The best part, though, was when she looked at them and got excited because she was considering yellow and grey for her wedding colors! I love it when things come together!
Hello and welcome to Kate Bakes! This site will (hopefully) be very busy over the next few days as I settle in here and upload some past projects. Check in often, and in the meantime, have a look at my Instagram (@katebakesny) for current projects and peeks into my kitchen!
Cheers,
Kate
